Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. In her early years she attended at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. From the age of six Emma knew she would like to be an actress and for several years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were selected as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It beat all previous records on its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Critics gave high praise to the film and particularly the young performers. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed, called her performance commendable. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her exceptional performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in an Film.
